I'm also thankful for my mother-in-law who is an amazing knitter and helped me graft the last stiches together. Now I just need to decide on my next project...

This is my first try at cabel knitting. Wasn't too hard - though they don't really tell you if the yarn is supposed to be in front or back of the stiches. I think I figured out and it looks pretty neat. I have a pattern for mittens that are more advanced that I want to try next.

So as winter approachs I am drinking more hot tea and coffee beverages, so I made this cute coffee cozy from my stash yarn. The pattern was free on Ravelry, but I added the design since I like that sort of thing. Quick 3 hour project...think I'll make a few more.

Building the Rockets

The Rocket blanket is coming along nicely. I have the orange block, tan block, and half the gray block done. I still haven't decided how I'm going to put it together or what pattern I'm going to use to edge the blanket. Each block is measuring 14 inches by 15inches. I'm loving the color combo - so boyish. I would like to be finished with the blanket by this coming Friday.

New Ravelry Project

I wanted to make my son a blanket and I couldn't find any crochet patterns I liked with a rocket theme. I had been wanting to do some thing with filet stitch, so I figured this was a good time to try it. I was going to do small squares of filet stitched rockets with one giant rocket in the center. But I was suprised by the size of the finished square, much larger that I expected. So change of plans!
